Josh Hillis' Fat Loss and Fitness Blog Where the fact and fiction of celebrity fitness collides with hard core fat loss basics. Celebrity Fitness + Kettlebell Workouts + Diet = Being proud of and inspired by your body™
Probably the most misunderstood thing I talk about, is having a conversation with a client about what “your best version of yourself” would do, in relationship to this fitness or nutrition question.
—> I start with that a person’s “best version of themselves” is not a “perfect version of themselves”
In fact, likely, it’s a wiser, more reasonable version of themselves. One with more foresight about the ridiculousness of taking on too much. One that it kind to themselves about all of the different things that matter to them and the different priorities they balance.
It’s not that your best version of yourself would be able to “do it all”.
It’s that your best version of yourself would take actions that express your values. Including values about fitness, values about family, values about career, values about fun and adventure.
To me, it’s actually about self-expression.
That when you make choices and take actions related to your fitness, that they are consistent with your values. And that you get to say what those are.
